Summer was so good. I loved having all the extra time to work on projects and other things that I hadn’t had time, energy, or abilty to do anything about over the past year. And so, even though I love teaching, I was definitely not ready to go back to work on the 6th of August. It felt so early, but oh well. Back to work I went.

Thank goodness I had my amazing minions to help me set up my classroom. There is no way I would have had the time or energy to do it without them. Such a blessing!

We started off all the meetings right away, but at least they fed us breakfast on almost all the days, which was a nice touch, since I don’t think any of us were ready to be back. Ha ha!

But wow, it has been so exhausting. Especially the two straight district curriculum days (which used to be only one day, but for some reason they decided to have us do two days???), which were long and felt totally pointless.

I have a new 4th grade team this year, Erin and Layla, and they are fantastic. I love them already. It should be a great year working with them. And for “Meet the Teacher” night, we were all dressed in our matching shirts. It was great meeting my homeroom, and I am totally teaching a bunch of siblings of some of my old students, which I love!

On Friday morning, we had our special meeting with our Reagan High School Cluster, and there was a 70’s theme. And since I had no 70’s clothes, I borrowed some from my friend Jana, and so was able to look the part. And I actually think my haircut matched the outfit.

It was a very long 1 1/2 weeks of work, but now I get to move on to the good part of my job – actually teaching my students 😉😊.
