Our lowkey summer is here, and although we still have appointments and things, it has been so great to have big spaces in our calendar that are unscheduled. We do all still have our summer goals and lists of fun things as well.

One fun thing was that Kevin made us Dole Whips on Sunday, and they were so good! The kids decided to enjoy theirs outside.

This week, I also had a group of ladies from my ward come over and worked together the clean my baseboards and walls. I wish I had a picture with all of them, but Sandra, Whitney and Becky will have to represent the others. It was seriously such a blessing, and something that I have not been able to do.

It has been so nice to be able to go walking at the park almost every day since I don’t have school. Sometimes I have the kids come with me, and Arthur always loves a chance to play at the playground.

On Friday morning, we had a special opportunity to do a sealing session with Kevin, Lily, Derek, my sister Wendy, and my Aunt Linda and Uncle Scott. I didn’t get a picture of any of us together, but Wendy had taken some pictures of the temple to show her grandson, and she shared them with me. I love spending time in the temple, but especially with family.

With Arthur home from school, the boys have had a lot more time together than usual – which can be a good thing, and a bad thing đŸ˜‰. The other day though, it was a great thing as Derek taught Arthur how to make our favorite protein bites, and they did the whole thing without arguing. Go team!

Lily had a special experience on Saturday, as the YSA ward had a field trip to Corpus Christi for the day so they could go to the beach. She loves the ocean so much, and she had a blast, even if she got a little sunburned.

I had chemo on Friday, and very late that night, Pamela flew in because she is taking me to Nashville for the week while I recover. So exciting!

Before we flew out on Saturday afternoon, we had enough time to get to do some fun things. She and Kevin and I went to lunch at a yummy Mexican restaurant. And then after that, we picked up Arthur and went to the grand opening of the Milkshake Factory. We had to wait in a pretty long line in the heat, but it was totally worth it. The milkshakes were amazing, and they let us sample all the different chocolate that they make in their store, which were to die for. So good!

It was the perfect way to finish off a wonderful week of summer.
