Our Arthur, while he definitely has his struggles as he navigates being thirteen, middle school, autism, and ADHD, continues to awe and amaze us all. This past week or so have had quite a few things that showed us, yet again, why he is “King Arthur” 😉.

One of those things was that he was inducted into the National Junior Honor Society. We are so proud of him for this achievement, because not only does he have to have the academics, but he had to be nominated by a teacher, and also demonstrate that he has both leadership and volunteer experience. (The ceremony was even more fun for me, because there were about ten of my old students also getting inducted, and so I got to congratulate them as well. So awesome.)

After practicing for the past two months, Arthur auditioned for the Regional Choir. Derek took him to the audition, as it was on the Friday night that my brother was visiting, and Arthur was lucky enough to get called second to audition our of a couple hundred middle school boys.

Not only that, but later that night, we got the message that he made the choir!! So exciting to have all of his hard work pay off.

Another thing that Arthur has been involved in lately, is the golf team at his school. He has been trying to get in practice with his dad in the backyard, as well as his practices with his coach.

And since he missed the practice at the golf course this past week, Kevin took him to play a round at Windcrest (where they play) on Saturday afternoon. He is doing well and growing a lot. Although he will not be in the top five to play in the tournament, he is in the top ten, which is awesome. We are so proud of him as he works hard to achieve his goals.

And as a special treat for Arthur, Derek bought them tickets to go and see “Project Hail Mary,” since we had listened to the book together on our way to Florida, and they felt betrayed that their dad and I went without them last week. Ha ha! I love that these brothers are such good friends, in spite of their seven year age difference.
