Life with Arthur is always an adventure. I never really know what I am going to hear from him or what he is going to do. Yes, there are the teenage boy moments and difficulties you get with most thirteen year old boys – mostly in containing his emotions and regulating his behaviors, oh, and of course, actually listening to his parents. It may be like he has forgotten the sound of our voices and permanently tuned them out 🙃.
Yet, with every tricky part of having a teenage boy, he is right there with all the amazing and good things. Wanting to hang out with me, giving me hugs, reading our book together – when we can squeeze in the time, and so much more. At school, he was recently nominated for and accepted into the National Junior Honor Society. He will be inducted next month and it is such an honor.
He is also still leading the way with his minutes read. He is first in the school overall, and even was first for the month of February. Pretty awesome, even if it means I have to check on him and take away his books and ebooks at night when he is supposed to be sleeping 😉.

Recently, his boys choir at Bush Middle School participated in the UIL choir competition. How Ms. Calvo gets that group of crazy boys to behave is truly amazing, especially with all the waiting and down time they had before the competition.

Kevin was able to be one of the chaperones and said that they were spectacular. I wish I could have seen it.

And because they were so awesome, they got a trophy for getting Sweepstakes, meaning that they got all 1’s across the board, even for their site reading. That is amazing!!

Now, Arthur is getting ready to start yet another new adventure – the school golf team. Good times!
