How is this kid a teenager already?? We had so much fun celebrating Arthur for his birthday.

Just like I did for his older siblings, I did a “Thirteen Days of Turning Thirteen” countdown for Arthur. Each day leading up to his birthday, he had a small, fun and simple gift.

There were all sorts of things – a fidget magnet pen, bubble bath, his favorite black long underwear he likes to wear for pj’s, piano socks, books, a fancy temple recommend holder, new gloves, another cool fidget, chocolate coins and a pen, gum, and even special black light pens. He LOVED it!

The day before his birthday, we had a mini-party hangout with a couple good friends, Andrew and Sam. (With my treatment and everything I am going through physically, I was not up for more than that.) We had pizza for lunch, they played video games and a card game, and then swam in the swim spa. It was perfect.

Sunday was Arthur’s actual birthday, and we woke him up with singing. He may have been extra sound asleep, or he may have been pretending, but it took a bit for him to get up. Derek may have had to resort to tickling – ha ha!

Then Arthur emerged from his room as a teenager!

Derek was awesome and helped me get Arthur some special breakfast, which Arthur was very grateful for.

And before we got ready for church, we facetimed with Lily so he could open his gift from her. So fun!

After church, the boys and I played Arthur’s new Lego card game, which was pretty fun.

And for dinner, we had his very favorite meal – Overnight French Toast.

Then it was time for him to make his way through his “present train” and open his gifts. After giving him gifts for almost two weeks previous, his gifts from Kevin and I were smaller. His favorite was probably the entire rest of the Ranger’s Apprentice series.

His gift from Derek was probably one of the biggest winners, as it was a Mr. Beast Lab Swarm for him to experiment with. It was a good thing that Derek was sitting down, or he would have knocked him over. Good times!

Then it was time for “cake” – but really, brownies. And there may have been a section missing from when he had friends over the day before. The best part, however, that as Derek lit the candles, he blew out the match and blew out the candles as well. It was hilarious, and he had to relight them so Arthur could then blow them out.

It was definitely a wonderful celebration of our “baby” boy.
