This Halloween was a little different for me, but my kids still managed to have a great time. They attended our ward Trunk or Treat, and the guy that Lily is dating, Chris, came with them, which was super fun.

On actual Halloween, Arthur had a half day of school, and so we watched a Hallmark mystery movie together that afternoon. It was such a great way to spend time together, since I felt rotten still from chemo.

Lily was awesome and made our traditional “mummy dogs” for dinner, which made the boys very happy.

For Arthur’s costume, he was Dipper Pines, a character from his favorite TV show, “Gravity Falls.” His amazing sister took him out trick-or-treating, and they were out for two hours – enough for him to reach the “jackpot” level on his bag. Nice.

Even though I felt pretty rotten, Kevin set up chairs for us so we could give out candy. It is so fun to do nowadays, because I often have past students come. One of them was simply amazing – she did the funniest dance to the “Kung Fu Fighting” song in her panda costume. I laughed harder than I have in ages, and it was just what I needed. So fun. Eventually, we had Derek take over handing out candy so I could go lie down in bed and watch TV with Kevin. It was a great way to finish off our Halloween.

PS. I just have to give a shout out to all my fabulous local friends who I never remember to take pictures of when they visit. I have friends that go on walks with me, visit and talk with me, come over and watch movies, bring over takeout for lunch, and so many more things. Kevin did snap this picture of me with my friend, Shenai, as she stopped by one night. She had come over a few weeks ago and we made these adorable ghost candles together. So much fun, and just one of many examples of my fabulous friends.
