“But miracles do not make life easy. Most often, miracles just make the next step possible.” – “A Girl Called Samson” by Amy Harmon.

Next week, things are about to get very real as I move toward both my radiation and chemo treatments. On Monday, I go in for the surgery to have my port inserted, and so it begins.

But yesterday, I got to do a yoga workout ❤️. And today I put on my workout clothes and walked a very slow mile (with a ten minute sitting down break in the middle). It’s amazing how those little things are big things, and make all the difference.

Sometimes the love, kindness, generosity and caring are overwhelming. I mean, it’s just me, but people are so amazing. The constant love and support coming to me and my family over the past two weeks is incredible. And it always seems to come exactly when I need it.

For example, yesterday was rough. They have been weaning me off the many medications that they’ve had me on, and I did not realize first, how much the steroids they had me on were helping me feel good. And second, how horrible I would feel once they took me off them 🤪😬. So yesterday, when I had the worst migraine I’ve ever had in my life, I was nauseous and achy, and it hurt to move or do anything, I had friends that came over and talked to me and distracted me from the horrible pain. Or brought my family dinner, or a special surprise, or a phone call. Just look at these beautiful flowers and blanket from my old book club in Pennsylvania 😍.

And the beautiful Emma M. Lion necklace from my friend Angela (if you know, you know). Or this gorgeous nativity that I had been trying to find a way to get ever since I didn’t buy it when I was in Newport. When Becky heard about my health, she drove the three hours there and found the exact one I had wanted, and then mailed it to me 😭. I mean, wow, the overwhelming generosity.

And today, there were more wonderful visits and surprises. My daughter even had me come downstairs so I could go outside and see the extra special surprise from the wonderful primary kids in our ward 🥹😭❤️.

So yes, I am completely overwhelmed with all the love, and how I could possibly deserve a fraction of it. But oh, how grateful I am for it all ❤️.

PS. Last week, we went for my follow up appointment with my spectacular brain surgeon, Dr. Bogaev, and he said that I am healing so well, that I am cleared for all activities, and that I don’t have to do PT, OT or speech therapy. Just another amazing miracle! And seriously, not only is he one of the top nuero surgeons in the country, but he is one of the kindest men that Kevin and I have ever met.
