Remember that side story in our trip to Idaho where Kevin fell through a ceiling?? Hmm. So, somehow because of my emergency brain surgery and all the things, that side detail about what happened to Kevin sort of gets forgotten. That is, until we are anywhere meeting doctors or having friends visit, and they notice the brace/cast on his right hand. They ask what happened, and we get to laugh and tell the story. I mean, I guess we really can’t be boring 😉.

So, back when I was in the hospital, Kevin had to actually leave my side so that he could go to the doctor for himself. He had to get new x-rays, see his doctor, and figure out if he was heading into surgery as well.
And so on Monday, one week after my brain surgery, Lily took Kevin in to get surgery done on his thumb. (And here is where we take another moment to thank God that Lily is home with us right now, and the tremendous blessing that is.) The surgery seemed to go go well, and now he is convalescing by my side.
We aren’t sure how long his recovery will be, or how long he won’t have use of his right hand, but we will take that a day at a time as well. In the meantime, Kevin’s parents sent him an early birthday present of a Lego set of the Neuschwanstein castle, and we are attempting to put it together 😂. Him with no right hand, and me with shaky fingers and now grip strength. It is awesome.
