This week was a little more lowkey for Arthur, which was nice for me, since I didn't have to take him all over the place like I had the rest of the summer. He did have a special awards night and swim team party on Monday, which he loved. There was a free swim for the whole family, pizza, etc.   The only problem came when a huge lightning storm hit right in the middle of it all.  I was just leaving the party early with Derek when the storm hit and it was quite the downpour.  Arthur and Kevin weren't that far behind us because the thunder and lightning sort of shut down the pool party.  It's all good though, because Arthur still got his awards.  He even got a special one, "The King Award," which was super cute!

Speaking of Arthur, as I was reading my book, The Greatest Game Ever Played, I noticed the name "Arthur Brown" in it, which I had to show to Arthur.  So fun!! I mean, I knew that my kids all ended up with British names, but I didn't expect it in a true story and that the guy totally developed a special new golf club that changed the game.  Nice!  Arthur thought it was so cool!

We were so busy after Father's Day with our trip, that Kevin hadn't had a chance to touch his Legos until now. He finally got around to building the special Legos that he got as a present.  It turned out so cool, and he totally added the Death Star and the mini-figures, which made it even better.  Very fun!

The other day, Arthur and I were in the kitchen, we looked into the backyard and I noticed the coolest green gecko on the tree.  Arthur couldn't see it at first, so we went outside and had to sneak up on it.  So fun!!  Too bad my camera focused on the stuff behind it instead of the gecko 😂.

This week I also got Derek working out in the pool. One of the best parts of our swim spa is that you can actually swim in it using the current and straps. He is a tad too skinny for the loop, and we made it work and he got in a good workout.

Kevin told me about a smaller belt he had bought for Arthur, and so I was able to get Arthur out in the pool swimming as well, which he thought was great.

While Arthur was working out, I was working on some yard work, pruning bushes etc.  Unfortunately, when I was working on my honeysuckle, there just happened to be a wasp's nest in it, which I couldn't see or know was there.  And yeah, it made him mad, and I got stung.  It was awful!  And days later, my wrist is still swollen from it 😬.  Not fun.  And just because I can't be boring, the same day I woke up in the night and heard one of my teeth crack.  And I was leaving town two days later 🙄.  Miraculously, my amazing dentist not only got me in that day, but fixed the cracked filling.  Hallelujah!

Also this week, I had the very not fun experience of getting an MRI on my spine.  I have been having horrible back pain for about six months.  I go to bed fine, and I wake up in the morning and it feels as if someone has beat my back black and blue. It is so weird, and totally different from my normal back pain, and so I talked to my doctor about it, and she has had me doing physical therapy for the past few months.  The PT hasn't helped at all, and so she sent me for an MRI of my spine.  Unfortunately, it didn't really show anything I didn't already know – that I have scoliosis and some bulging discs in my neck.  Neither of those things explain this other back pain, so I guess I am still at a loss of what to do.

Friday was National French Fry day, and so we had to celebrate.  The boys had McDonalds, and Kevin and I had Five Guys.  I think we had the better end of the deal, but the boys were very happy.  Very fun!

And then, later that night, Arthur and I watched a Hallmark mystery movie together and he put together this fun puzzle I had made after my dad passed away five years ago.  While he did the puzzle, I finished packing for our trip to Idaho. It was a great way to end the week.
