We started out July with Arthur at at his week long golf clinic.  He was super excited to and learn more, especially because he is hoping to try out for the golf team at Bush Middle School this year.

As for me, I am truly doing my best to enjoy summer, even if places are totally to mess with my brain back putting out the back to school supplies already.  Seriously, so mean of them!  I loved this meme I found online: "Didn't win teacher of the year, but now I am getting some some, reading books for grownups, binge watching Netflix, and sleeping ten hours a day, so I think I've a really good shot at teacher of the summer."  (Although, the sleeping in has not been happening, but all the rest is pretty much true.

The missionaries totally came over on their P-day and a blast with Kevin on his golf simulator, especially the elder who truly loves golf.  You can just see the grin on his face that he had won the lottery.  And Kevin had a blast with them!

The other day, my sweet friend Farida, who lives down the street, invited Arthur and I to come over and in her pool with friends.  We had a great time – Arthur getting to swim and play with kids, and I loved getting to talk to my friends Farida, Laura, and Meagan.

This week was also the Fourth of July, and after toying with the idea of going to Seaworld, we planned a pretty lowkey day.  I took Derek and Arthur to Krispy Kreme for free Fourth of July donuts. Yum!!

We had planned of playing golf on the simulator and playing in the hot tub, but it rained and rained and rained.  There were horrible flash floods everywhere and lightning, and so we stayed inside.  I did venture out to grill burgers, but other than than, it was an inside day. 

I let the boys each pick a different activity – Derek picked watching the new "Snow White," which was super fun.  And Arthur chose playing Star Wars Villainous – the bane of Kevin's and my existence.  Kevin and I can never win, it is so long and drawn out, and on and on.  At one point, Arthur was about to win and I thwarted him, only to realize that it make the game take another hour!!!  Derek eventually won put us out of our misery. 

Saturday was more of the same, raining and raining.  Kevin was more than a little frustrated that he couldn’t play golf in the backyard, and over church on Sunday, when there was a sort-of break in the rain, he set things up for us to play as a family.  There was little bit of sprinkles on us, and their was totally thunder in the distance, but we managed to get in some fun family time 😊.

Later that evening, in honor of us finishing the Book of Mormon again as a family, we each decorated of our own copy to use from now on.  I love how they turned out!!  It was the perfect way to finish our first week of July.
