Father’s Day was a nice lowkey day, which is just how Kevin likes it.  The boys had out some breakfast for him, as well as a card that Arthur made.  When I reminded Arthur to make sure he had made a card for his dad, little did I know that he would choose to MAIL it to his dad, having no concept that it probably wouldn’t arrive in time.  Luckily, even though he mailed it on Thursday, it arrived on Saturday, so that Kevin could actually have his card 😉.  On Sunday, he also made a digital card, and it cracked me up: My dad’s name is Kevin.  My dad’s faith helps me to do many hard things. My dad’s secret talent is golf. My dad’s happy place is the golf course.  My dad taught me how to play golf.

At church, we had a nice sacrament meeting with the primary kids singing, and then at the end of second hour, we brought out all the pies for the dads.  I had spent the evening before with the Primary and Young Women’s presidents slicing and putting pie into containers, and then a bunch more pies were brought out as well, and we had more pie than we knew what to do with.  I think that it was a successful endeavor, even if we ended up with way more pie than we needed, and so by the end, we allowing anyone and everyone to eat pie too 😂.

After church, we had a wonderful CFM study with Lily, and while she was one, we had Kevin open his gifts.  Very fun.

And for dinner, we had chicken fried steak – Kevin’s favorite – and even homemade lemonade.  Arthur and I had made these special lemon sugar cookies for dessert, and he was super bummed that we didn’t have enough lemons to make lemonade.  Somehow at church, he poured his heart out about the dilemma to my my friend Becky S., and she came to his rescue after church.  You see, her mom had brought her fresh lemons from her tree in Arizona, and she had plenty to share.  Awesome!  And so Arthur got to make his dad lemonade, just like he wanted.  It was a great day.

**On a little side note, it has now been five years since my daddy has passed away, and it was the 6th Father’s Day without him.  I am so grateful to have him for my my daddy, and I know that he is busy doing all the things on the other side of the veil.
