This past weekend, Arthur, along with the other Deacons in the North Stake, got to go to a special camp, and he had the best time! (It was crazy dropping him off at the church, and knowing that it was his first time away from home without any of his family with him.) But since I wasn’t there, I thought I would have him write down things is his own words . . .

Once we got to the stake center, all of us deacons and leaders, we packed our things on to the van. After that, the leaders took role call and talked about safety. Then we got in the van. We all fit in the same van, and during the long drive, I was able to watch something on one of two mini TV’s since I was in the front of the van. I was lucky.

Since Ronan, a friend from school, was coming with us, we got to hang out together. My friend Jack was also there with his dad.

Because of a giant storm on Wednesday night, instead of going where were originally supposed to go and camp, we were able to a lake house of a member of our stake. Once we arrived, we unpacked all of our things, and then we headed over to the river to do some swimming/fishing! It was so much fun, even if the river was really muddy because of the recent rain. There were kayaks there, so we got to use those at the river as well.

After all of that, we went back to the lakehouse to have our mini devotional with a member of the Stake Presidency.

After that, we had dinner of hotdogs, and some kids were idiots and thought it was a good idea to practice making fires. I was against it, of course. After that, we roasted marshmallows and made s’mores on actual firepit that was safe. We also saw an armadillo!!!

The next day, we had some pancakes for breakfast. They actually fed us pancakes every day, which was awesome!!!

Later that day, we got to shoot BB guns at soda cans. It was really cool.

A bit after that, we went to the river, and I got stuck in a canoe without a paddle and had to get rescued. Then one boy pushed me into some rocks and I had to leave the river! I wish that he had not done that to me. (That boys actually had to leave the camp early, because he made some even worse choices.)

For dinner on the second night, we had some brisket and other BBQ stuff which was really yummy..

After dinner, we did left center right and I won!!!

That night we played The Celebrity Guessing Game and some other fun games.

On Saturday morning, we packed up and loaded into the van to go back home.

This was the best camping trip ever!!!
