Our sweet and amazing Lily had her birthday yesterday, and it is crazy to think that our little girl is so grown up! Wasn’t she just this sweet and sassy six year old??

One the benefits of Lily having a car to use this school year, was the freedom to drive to Twin Falls to visit family, and so she planned on spending her birthday weekend with Grandma Lynn. Although Friday night when she arrived was filled with two different family birthday parties for cousins (which were just a bit overwhelming for her system), Saturday was just about Lily spending time with Grandma. They watched movies and ate Lily’s favorite – ribs – for dinner. Lily was also able to go and spend a couple hours hanging out with her other grandparents, which she really enjoyed.

Later on, they had a small party with Holly and her girls over. We were able to facetime with Lily while she opened her gifts from us, which I had shipped to my mom’s house. It was so great seeing our sweet girl, even if we couldn’t celebrate along with her.

As we were having her open gifts, my mom was a bit distracted because the horse race, the Preakness, was about to start, and my mom loves horse racing. She researched all the horses and takes notes. It’s awesome, but I guess we should have waited until it was over to call – ha ha!

After we hung up, they had birthday cheesecake and sang to Lily. She had a wonderful birthday, and I am so glad she was able to spend it with family. Such a blessing!
