Tuesday in Hawaii was golf day for Kevin.  He found a course in the middle of the mountains called The Royal Hawaiian Golf Club, that was supposed to be like “golfing in Jurassic Park.”  It really was beautiful.

The scenery was spectacular, but Kevin wasn’t super happy how the course was set up though – no yardage markers, and a few other things that made it frustrating to play.  It didn’t help that his GPS golf watch wasn’t working.  Oh well.  Any golf is good golf, right?  And hey, there were chickens there too.

I wasn’t playing golf, since we didn’t bring my clubs, and it was a bit pricey.  I was there for the amazing views.  So pretty!!

And there were gorgeous flowers everywhere, especially since the course was carved out of a tropical rainforest.

After the golf, we picked up some lunch and made our way to the ocean, where I finally set foot on the beach.  As we were walking up to the beach, a man handed us a beach chair that he was getting rid of, and so I even had the perfect place to sit with my toes in the sand.  I could have stayed there for hours, but after about 45 minutes, a rain storm blew in and I was freezing.  I know, I am crazy, being cold in Hawaii – ha ha!!

After crashing in our hotel room for a bit, we walked over to the beach and went to the Steak Shack for a yummy dinner.  You couldn’t beat the view.

We met up with Madison, the daughter of our friend, Amy.  We sat and talked for over an hour and had the best time.

And we even got to watch the sunset on the beach, which was spectacular.

As we walked back to our hotel, we stopped for shaved ice at this cute little place built in the bottom of a parking garage called Lahaina Shave Ice.  It was so delicious.  And truly, shave ice is so much better than snow cones.

We got back to our hotel and settled down for the night, when suddenly I started hearing to a loud drumming outside our window.  I looked outside our window, only to see a fireworks display going on.  It was big, beautiful, and reflected on the surface of the ocean.  What a special surprise and the perfect end to our day.
