April in Texas is beautiful, and not just because of the gorgeous weather. April is wildflower season in Texas – more particularly, bluebonnet season. I love driving around and seeing the gorgeous wildflowers everywhere. It reminds me of when we lived in Colorado and the wildflowers that blanketed the countryside in the summer.

Just down from Arthur’s school, there was an area that had such a beautiful variety of wildflowers, that I took advantage of a rare day off, and I walked down to take pictures and try to capture their beauty. And yes, I was the crazy lady standing in the median taking pictures – ha ha! It gave me such joy though.

The hardest part of this past week was having to say goodbye to Lily. On Wednesday morning, dark and early, Kevin took Lily to the airport to fly back to Idaho and go to BYUI for her spring semester. We are going to miss our sweet girl so very much!!

To help cheer the boys up, we decided to dye eggs for Easter.  They loved it, and I am glad, because dying eggs is not my favorite thing. It’s all good though, because I love having hard boiled eggs on hand.

Easter Sunday was lovely. I love remembering the sacrifice of our Savior, Jesus Christ, and the gift He gave us in suffering and dying for us. But especially remembering the good news of the gospel, that He lives – he was resurrected. The tomb was empty.

Because it was Easter, I convinced the boys to dress up in their suits, and they looked so good.  And I used the chance to wear the pretty new hat I bought in NYC. It was my “Easter Bonnet.”

I sure do love these boys of mine!  And they sure do look handsome in their suits!

After church and CFM study, I made a special ham dinner, but the best part of the meal had to be the French Bread Rolls that I made to go with it.  They were so very good! For dessert, I had bought a tuxedo cake from Costco, which was delicious. It was a wonderful Easter, even though we missed our Lily.
