Our fourth day at Disney started early, as Lily and I were up and outside at my “good cell reception spot” to try and get our place in the virtual line for Rise of the Resistance. Kevin was even logged in and trying to get us in back in Pennsylvania. At 7am on the dot, we all tried and Lily was the winner!! We got in the virtual line – it was so exciting, especially because I really wanted Lily to get to experience this ride, which my mother called “the best ride she has ever been on.” Since we were back at Hollywood Studios, unlike Tuesday, this time we wanted to be there right at opening. It was also another day we could take advantage of the awesome Skyliner. We got in line early so we could be one of the first to head over when it opened, and then we waited at a line at the gate for about ten minutes, and then the park opened up.
When we were there on Tuesday, the line for Slinky Dog was way too long, and so that it where we went first to start our day. It is such a fun little coaster, and the line wasn’t bad when we got off, so we got back in the line and rode it again. Awesome!
After Slinky Dog, we headed over to Galaxy’s Edge to ride on Smuggler’s Run. This time we got to be the pilots, and we actually did a pretty good job of not crashing.
After that, we stopped for a snack at Ronto Roasters – we got the breakfast Ronto Wrap and it was delicious!
We also tracked down a baby Porg for Lily, and it was a cute little shoulder Porg, and so for a while, she walked around with it on her shoulder. I especially loved her shadow with it on her shoulder.
We rode a few more rides, and then went back to Galaxy’s Edge because it was getting closer to our time to ride Rise of the Resistance. We decided to get some lunch at Docking Bay 7 – it wasn’t as tasty as some of our other meals, but the dessert was pretty good.
After lunch, we got in line so we could go shopping in all the shops there, but because of social distancing, not only was there a line, but it was crazy long, because you had to wait until enough people were done shopping and had left the area. We had been in line a while, but just as we were getting pretty close to the front of the line, we got the alert that it was time for our group to join the line at Rise of the Resistance, and so we left and rushed over there as fast as we could. We were so excited, and from the second you started in the line, the ride began. Disney really is magical with the way they create their line/waiting areas to be part of the whole experience.
The ride itself is indescribable, and suddenly Rey appears and gives you a mission to complete, but then you are captured by the First Order. The cast member that was guarding us saw Lily’s birthday pin and asked her if it was her real birthday, and when Lily said no, she said, “Just like the resistance to lie.” Ha ha! It must be so fun for them to pretend to be mean.
The next thing we knew, we were in a car thingy, being rescued, being chased, going past giant ATAT’s, and so much more. Lily tried to video the whole thing to show her brothers, and I tried to snap a few pictures when I wasn’t just in awe of it all.
It was really great when Kylo Ren hunted us down and his lightsaber was cutting through the ceiling. Really, it was insane!
Before we knew it, we had escaped and the ride was over. It was so amazing, and I am so glad that we were able to ride it!!
After we finished up at rise of the Resistance, we went to ride a few more rides, including going to Muppetvision, a super cute 3D movie.
Our last order of business was one last ride on Toy Story Mania. It was a blast, and Lily and I were super close, taking turns as to who was in the lead, when she swooped in and beat me. As we were walking out, about the leave Toy Story Land, a family asked us if we wanted to ride Toy Story Mania without waiting in line – I guess they had done a rider switch and had two extra entries, and so they swiped their wrist bands, and Lily and I walked right back on. So awesome!! This time we both were trying so hard to win, and at the very end I beat her by only 100 points. Awesome.
We finished up at Hollywood studios around three, and headed over to Epcot for dinner, where we decided to eat all the foods we had wanted to try the other day, but didn’t get to. They were all amazing, from the street corn, to the Italian flatbread pizza, or the mini funnel cake with lemon cheesecake ice cream and blueberries, or the key lime tart, and the dark chocolate raspberry tart. Lily also wanted another Vampiro Taco, since it was her favorite thing from Wednesday. It was all so good, and we could have just kept eating. (Once again, thank goodness we were getting in so many miles of walking 😉).
Since we were there, we took the time to look at a few things we missed the first time, including watching the American Adventure presentation. And we found a few more topiaries we had missed. (By the way, we found Lily’s Norwegian goddess doppelgänger.)
Our last ride of the day was on Soarin’, since it is one of my favorite rides ever. Then we rode the Skyliner back to our hotel, and we’re sad to realize that it was probably the last time we would ride it. I wish they had one to each of the resorts – they are so nice. We got back to our resort and crashed, completely exhausted, but so happy.
