As I have mentioned before, my mother is very sick and has to have surgery to remove a tumor. At first, they were just watching the tumor, but after her PET scan showed that the tumor was hot, her doctor decided that she needed surgery right away. As soon as the surgery was scheduled, I booked my plane tickets to come out and help her. So, on Monday afternoon, I said goodbye to my sweet kids with a great big group hug, and Kevin took me to the airport.

I flew out of Baltimore and was all masked up and ready to go.

I had a direct flight to Salt Lake City, and I was so lucky – I had an entire row to myself. That meant I got to stretch out, take a nap, and be as comfy as you can be on a plane for a five hour flight. There was also a plug right by my seat, which was awesome. I spent most of the time listening to my audiobook, which was perfect.

When I got to Salt Lake, I had to head to the new terminal, which was very far away, and I didn’t have much time. I practically ran all the way there. The best part of my trip, was the my in-laws, Dennis and Valerie, were on my same flight to Twin Falls. They were coming home from having Christmas in Vegas with Kevin’s brother Scott. Not only were we on the same flight, but we even ended up on the same row – what a tender mercy, especially because I was very anxious for my mother. Having them there to talk to and give me hugs was a huge blessing. They even gave me a ride to my mom’s from the airport.

It was a long day, but a little after midnight (2am by body time), I finally got to my mother. It was such a relief to finally be with her to help her out.
