Saturday was our last day in Ocean City, and so even though the temperature had dropped quite a bit, we had to get in some more time at the beach.  We even got to watch the sun coming up again, and it was spectacular.

Oh, how I love the ocean.  I feel like I could just sit there and stare at it forever. Or take a million pictures of it ;).

Once again, we were essentially the only people there, except for a few fishermen, which was wonderful.  Lily and Derek. were. content to sit on the beach blanket and talk, but Arthur was on a mission to do some digging, since it was too cold to go in the water.

He told me that he was digging a hole that he could hide some treasure in, which is just awesome.  He did hide small shells or sticks in it a few times, but they were so small, the person “searching” for them could never find them.

I decided that I wanted to go on another walk down the beach, and Arthur decided to tag along and be my beach buddy.

One of his favorite things to do as we walked along, was to chase the seagulls.  

We also searched for shells and other interesting finds. I do now understand why crabs are such a big Maryland thing.  There were crab skeletons that had been shed by baby crabs everywhere.  And I mean everywhere.  Thousands of them.  It was fascinating and a little creepy.  Arthur and I ended up talking a lot about crabs because of them, and he told me how he always considered them “pests” because of their pinchers, but now he thinks they must use them to protect themselves. And then he was fascinated when he heard that people eat them.  Good times.

After playing at the beach, we all cleaned up, packed up, and checked out of our condo.   Then we headed to a breakfast place I had heard about called The Bayside Skillet.  The place was packed, and when we got our food, we knew why.  I got the fresh fruit crepes, which were amazing,  Lily had the strawberry blitzes, which were so good. Kevin got an amazing omelette, and the boys both got crepes.  It was so yummy,  and I was so full.

After our brunch,  we headed. to. mini-golf adventure number two.  Derek and I miraculously both won a free round of gold the day before, and so the two of us were free.  Awesome.  

Even though it was a little. chilly, we played on an outdoor course this time (partly so we didn’t have to wear masks).  It was the dinosaur one, and super fun. And I loved how they had ball retrievers on the holes. with water hazards.

It was another super fun round of golf with the family, and we had a blast.  And yes, Kevin won yet again.  It was the theme of our vacation. – ha ha! All too soon, we were in our car and headed the three hours back home, but we were all happy and rejuvenated.  It really was the perfect family getaway, and just what we all needed.
