On our second day of vacation, Lily and I were up before the sun, and so we got her all fixed up and we went down to the beach so I could take her senior pictures. 

As we were walking to the beach, the sun was. just coming up, and the sunrise was so amazing that she and I ran there, because we didn’t want to miss a second of it.  There is something so very magical about watching the sun rise over the ocean, as the gold and pink sparkle on the water.

Lily was my beach baby,  as we lived on the coast in California until she was two, and then in Savanah Georgia, third minutes from the ocean,  until she was six. She loves the sand, she loves the waves, and so it seemed like the perfect. place for her portraits.   I just love how the pictures turned out! She is such a gorgeous girl

After I took. her pictures, I decided to take advantage of the beautiful morning on the beach and walk a few miles along the ocean. Other than a few other people walking, it was just me and the seagulls, which was perfect.

Because I knew that cooler temperatures and rain were on the way, when I sent Lily home, I had her change clothes and tell the boys to come and play. It was seventy degrees, and so perfect for playing in the ocean.  – even if it was too cold for my blood. Ha ha!

The three of them laughed and played in the waves for almost an hour, and they would have stayed longer, but I felt the first rain drop, and I could see the storm on the horizon.

Arthur and I were the last to make it out, and the rain started falling for real right before we made it to the condo.

Because we knew there was an impending storm, we planned activities for the day that were indoors. The first activity was what Arthur had been looking forward to even before we left on the trip – miniature golfing. To say that there are a lot of mini-golf courses in Ocean City is a huge understatement, and so narrowing down which one we were going to play at was going to be tricky.  The fact that it was raining and cold, helped make our decision though, as less than a block away there was an indoor course. 

The course was jungle themed and very, very fun.  We had a such a great time.

The holes were all really creative, and on some of them there were even moving parts you had to avoid.  We finished things off and Kevin destroyed us all, although Derek did give him a run for his money.

After golfing, we went to lunch at a yummy place in town, of which we were the only patrons.  (Seriously, the city is a ghost town because of it being the off season. We kept being grateful that the miles and miles of sky rise condo buildings were mostly empty.)

After lunch, we came back to our condo and tried out the indoor pool, which was part of the reason I booked this particular condo. The water was freezing, and so was the enclosure. I didn’t even put on my suit, but the rest of the family swam, even though the teenagers were less than enthused – ha ha! We finished things off with the kids seeing how many breaths it would take to get across the pool.  He ended up making it across without even taking a breath – wow! The kids were seriously impressed.

After the pool, they got showered and I had hot cocoa waiting for them.  Then we ate dinner (which I cooked in our condo’s kitchen) and played Cover Your Assets, and Kevin took the crown, although Arthur almost came back and won it.  After that, we settled down to eat dessert (candy bars for each of us), popcorn, and watch a fun movie on Netflix called “The Sleepover.” It was super cute, and was the perfect way to end a fabulous day as a family.
