On Wednesday morning, at 3 am, we were up and getting ready to leave for the airport, and by 3:35 am, we were loading into our rental car and headed for the Salt Lake Airport. To say that we were all crazy tired is putting it lightly, but our flight was at 6 am, and so we didn’t have a choice.

By 4:30 am, we had all our luggage unloaded and were in line to check in. Kevin dropped off the minivan we had rented while we waited in line, and he got to us just in time, which was good, because once we weighed the luggage, we had to move it to a different location to turn it in. It made me miss the ease of how they did check in at BWI. Oh well. The kids were great though, even if they were so tired that they got a little confused going through security.

One benefit of having the early morning flight, was watching the fabulous sunrise over the mountains as we took off. It also meant that we were in Baltimore by noon, which was awesome.

The flight went well, and the hardest part was having to wear our masks for the whole flight. I have decided that I need a new mask, because mine is a little difficult to breathe in, especially for long periods of time, like four straight hours. When we got to the airport, my amazing friend, Becky, was there with our van to get us. We swung by Costco on our way home from Baltimore to get some food, and then spent the rest of the day unpacking and playing catch-up.
And today, I spent four hours out in my yard and garden – oh how I had missed it! I had some amazing friends and neighbors that were taking care of things for me while we were gone, but even then, there was a lot to do. There were also my beautiful flowers, just waiting for me to clip some and bring them in for us to enjoy. It was a good trip, and I am so grateful that everything worked out like it needed to, but wow, it is good to be home.
