Leaving my parents is always a very hard thing to do, but luckily I had the motivation to get back to Kevin, Lily and Derek – and I had Arthur there to cuddle when I was sad.  Which I was – it was so hard leaving my mom, but it made me even more grateful that I got to be there.

Because we were flying out of Boise, early in the morning, it meant we got to spend the night with the Bowlander family.  Terrie is one of my best friends, and I love her and her family dearly.  It is crazy to see how grown up her kids are getting, but she felt the same way about Arthur, who she used to cuddle when he was a newborn.  We had the best time talking and catching up, and Arthur was in heaven playing with their son, Vigo, who not only jumped on the trampoline with him, but also played Legend of Zelda for him.  Good times!

The next morning, bright and early, we were back in our masks and at the Boise airport.  We were doing a complete reverse of how we got to Idaho, flying from Boise to Denver, then to Detroit (where we just sat on the plane and didn’t have to get off), and finally to Baltimore. 

I loved having my little travel buddy with me. He was so awesome on the flights and in the airports, and he was also living his best life, eating popcorn and watching Star Wars.  Good times!

One of Arthur’s favorite things was waiting for our luggage, and then watching it come out.  Kevin and the older kids arrived just as our bags arrived, and Derek came in to help us.

Arthur had such a fun week, but he really missed his dad and siblings. It was so good to be a complete family again!

On Friday, before we left Twin, we stopped at Crumbl Cookies, and I got one for each of us, then I wrapped them up carefully, packed them in my suitcase and prayed they would survive.  Luckily, they did, and other than Arthur and his need to eat only the chocolate chip cookie, the rest of us shared, and they were so very good!  The red velvet was my favorite.  It was thee perfect dessert to celebrate being home.

PS. While Arthur and I were gone,  Kevin and the kids had a good and “quiet” time (they all mentioned how much quieter the house was without Arthur there).  Lily and Derek spent their mornings doing schoolwork, and then help Kevin work on their guitars, and even practice golf in the outdoor range Kevin set up.  And every night, they would pick a different movie to watch together.  They had a pretty good week, but I think they were happy to get us back.  And this is the only picture Kevin took the whole week – ha ha!
