Saturday morning I had the heart wrenching experience of going to the funeral of one of my closest friends here in Pennsylvania. Sharmayne passed away of cancer earlier this week, and the world lost one of the most kind, loving, creative and amazing people I have ever known.

I had the privilege of taking these pictures her and her family back in September. It was the most amazing and hardest photo shoot I’ve ever done, as we cried, laughed, and cried some more. But wow, I’m so grateful to have these pictures of my friend, and I’m so grateful Eric and Ellie have these memories of Sharmayne captured forever.

When I look at these pictures, I see her amazing spirit shining through – her joy, her love, and her knowledge of the plan of our Heavenly Father. Even though she didn’t want to leave behind her husband and baby girl, she knew who she was going home to, and she gave us comfort because of it.

Oh, how I will miss you Sharmayne! I will think of you every time I look at the curtains you helped me pick out, or the shelves you help me put up in my kitchen, or the grape jelly you taught me how to make, etc, etc. there are evidences of you all over my home, but even more than that, you have made a permanent imprint on my heart.
