We have been so lucky these past few months to have so many visitors (I think it may have something to do with our super cute baby and beautiful finished basement – he he!) This past weekend, our wonderful friends, Rob and Angela, came with their kids to play with us. Rob had just come home from a 7 month deployment, and Kevin is about to leave for a 6 month deployment, and so it was the perfect time to get together.
We love having them, and Lily and Derek love playing with their "crazy uncle Rob," as well as with Ellie and Eli, their oldest kids. And they loved getting to see Arthur, or as Rob called him, "Big Fat Baby."
We had such a fantastic time, and were so sad to see them go. Some of the highlights of the trip were:
*Staying up late playing pinochle – girls against boys. (Too bad the boys had all the luck this time, but they had to get us back for how awesome Angela and I were the last time we were together.)
*Eating delicious desserts. Angela made red velvet cake one night, and the next night we had pumpkin chocolate chip cake. I ate way too much of them both – they were so good!
*Spending a day shopping with Angela – we only had Arthur with us, and we had such a great time!
*Going on a double date – so much fun!
*Getting to show off our super cute baby boy :).
*Watching our kids play together for hours and hours.
*Getting their 3 year old, Rosie, to say cute things or give Chewie kisses.
*Watching their 1 year old daughter, Clara, toddle all over – she had barely started walking right before they came, and it was so cute.
*Taking their family portraits, and having Angela snap a few family pictures for us, since we needed one with Arthur in it before Kevin leaves.
*Hanging out and talking for hours and hours.
*Playing "Just Dance 4" – somehow, we even got Kevin and Rob to dance to a song, and they were surprisingly awesome :).
*Watching Kevin and Rob together – it really is hard to believe they aren't brothers, they are so much alike.
