On Tuesday night, my sister Heather, her husband Tom, and their three youngest children stopped by for the night on their drive across the country.  They are in the process of moving from Miami, Florida to Idaho, and we were lucky enough to be on the way. 

It was so much fun to see them, even if it was for a short visit.  We had dinner, the kids all got to play together, and then we tucked them in and talked and watched a movie together.  It was great. 

They also had their collie, Bonnie, with them.  Although she spent most of the evening at my awesome friend Beth's house, running around with her dogs, the next morning Lily and Derek got to help their cousin, Caleb walk her.

They love animals, and since we are a "no pet family" ourselves, they get to get their fix with other people's pets. 

I think they gave her plenty of exercise before she had to go back in the car for the next leg of their journey, as they each took turns holding her leash and running :).

They had to leave pretty early Wednesday morning, since they had already been on the road almost a week, but it was so wonderful to have them for the short time we did.  I sure love being in Colorado, where it seems everybody has to pass through some time or another :).  And hey, the next time we have guests, our basement should be finished with a nice room for them to stay in.
