Our last stop before Colorado, was to play with the Jones family in Ogden one last time. Marilyn and Brent are like surrogate grandparents to my kids, and Marilyn is like a sister to me. (I guess the Lord knew I needed an extra sister 🙂 – we met in Savannah back when her husband was activated for a year to be an Army Chaplain there.)
We arrived just in time for dinner, and after dinner we headed to the park so the kids could burn off steam from being trapped in the car again. It was a fantastic park, and they had a blast.
We did have to come home early, however, because Lily caught a scab on the equipment and ended up with quite the bloody leg. She came to us with blood running down her leg, but she was more concerned about her shoe getting bloody than anything else. That silly girl :). The greatest was when I took her picture and she posed so beautifully – even her "sad face" was cute – he he!
On Monday morning, we went to the Tree House Museum in Ogden. It is right next door to the temple, and so we had to get a picture with the temple before they refurbish it.
The museum was AMAZING! If we lived closer, I would have a membership and go weekly. The kids loved it. It was centered around children's books, and it had all sorts of areas to dress up as characters from stories throughout the world. They even had singing/story time. The kids really loved dressing up :).
Almost everything was interactive too – they could even milk the cow! And the oval office was pretty awesome, with costumes to be George and Martha Washington :).
Lily's favorite thing was the microscope and the scientist coat – my little science girl :).
After the museum, we went back to Marilyn's house for some down time and to get ready for our nine hour drive to Colorado the next morning. The final leg of our adventure was awaiting us, and unfortunately, we saved the hardest part for last. It is all good though – the Lord was watching over me in many, many ways.
