Since my 30th birthday last year was all about celebrating, this year I decided it should be all about relaxation. Thanks to my husband and friends, it was exactly that. It all started with . . .
- Kevin letting me lay in bed until 6:30, since he didn't have PT, and so was there to distract Derek and Lily. (I still heard Derek trying to get in the bedroom, but I knew Kevin had things under control.)
- Then, Lily and I made cinnamon swirl muffins for breakfast – so yummy!
- Next, Marilyn took Derek for me so I could go spend the morning at the Vanilla Day Spa enjoying their "Mommy's Day Out" package that Kevin gave me :). After a massage, a fantastic facial, and a pedicure, I truly felt like a queen.
- After that I met up with Kevin and Derek for a terriyaki chicken bowl for lunch at the mall. Derek ran to greet me, threw his arms around me and said, "Mom, I missed you so much!" Ahh, I love that little boy!
- Later on, after picking up Lily from school, we headed out for the Olive Garden to enjoy a delicious dinner that I didn't have to cook or clean up :).
- Then it was back home for presents. I was so spoiled, and even got the movie, "Girls Just Want to Have Fun" from my sister Holly – ahh, the memories :). Kevin won though, and he really surprised me. First with the coolest fake coupon that he made and put in my card (I wish you could read the fine print), good for a new camera.
Then, when I opened my gift from Derek, it WAS the camera :). Best husband ever!
*After that, it was time for our White Chocolate Raspberry Truffle cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory. And I am definitely getting old, because there were so many candles on that thing, that you can even see the smoke in the pictures!
*And we ended the day with watching yesterday's new episode of The Office.
What a fantastic day! I couldn't have asked for more :). Thanks to all of you who thought of me – you are the best!
