On Tuesday morning, I finally got around to taking Derek's 3 yr old portraits. It was a month late, but oh well. It was a foggy Savannah morning, which worked out perfectly with the location I chose – Forest River at Lott's Island.
We even got lucky, and the gate to the dock was open, although it did mean I had to keep Derek from jumping in the river. I even tried reminding him that there are alligators in the river (True – not making it up.). He responded with, "I don't like crocodiles," as he walked even closer to the edge. Boys!
I was very happy with the pictures, and the fog made such an awesome backdrop. So fun!
PS. I used my fun new lens, and I was so proud of myself for shooting the entire time in manual, since I didn't want a flash to ruin the effect. Usually when I take portraits of little kids, they move so quick, I am afraid to shoot in manual mode – the fog made the lighting so uniform, that it was easy though.
PPS. I finished the last of home movies yesterday! Yea for finished projects!
