That is really just about all I can say about my guy. He is always doing something that makes me laugh, smile, or want to tear my hair out :). Kevin and I are always turning to each other in disbelief :).
Speaking of hair, his was shaggy and out of control, and so on Saturday night I decided to cut it. I did not want to take anything off the top, because it has finally started laying flat, but only cutting the sides is about the most difficult thing ever with him. I did the back okay, but without him holding still for me, I completely butchered the sides – oh well. It is still better than what it was, and now maybe I can finally take his 3 year old portraits :). (Another thing on my to-do list.)
Something else that has been cracking me up has to do with the Darth Vader trick-or-treat bucket in his hands. Every once in a while he will come up to me and say, "Mom, can I go pee pee on the potty and get a candy to go in my trick-or-treat bag?" Of course I say yes :), and then when he is done I have to put his candy in his bucket. Fun times, and hey, anything that will keep him happy about being potty trained.
The other day Kevin caught him with this crazy set up. He told us he was playing Guitar Hero – and he had set up his toys to look like the screen. He he! **This and the other pictures are prehaircut – notice the shagginess?
Another thing Derek does almost daily, is earn the right to watch a show, whether it is a Star Wars movie or a Playhouse Disney show, he gets pretty excited about it, and gets all cozy on the couch. Half of the time he even falls asleep for his nap that way, which is nice. He always wants to hold the movie case too, silly boy. The other day he got all comfy on the couch with his movie case, but fell sound asleep before I even had a chance to turn the movie on. It was so cute!
I sure love my baby boy – even if he is getting so grown up I can't even believe it, he will always be my baby boy. What will I do when he loses those adorable chubby cheeks?
