I know I have fallen off the grid the past few weeks.  Not only have I not been posting, but I haven't been reading people's blogs either.  I have a few different excuses, but it mainly comes down to the fact that since I started potty training Derek after Christmas, I have had to way more vigilant about being near him, which limits my time to do other things, and knocks computer time to the bottom of the list.

My other main excuse, is that once Derek had the potty training thing down, I was overwhelmed with the feeling I should get my home movies on DVD right away.  This meant that my time on the computer for the past week has consisted solely of editing movies and burning them to DVD's.  Since it takes so much processing power to do that, I wasn't able to work on anything else at the same time.

So here I am, my brain in a fog and trying for the life of me to remember what has happened in our lives during the past two weeks.  This is a rundown of the thing I can remember . . .

*Derek is potty-trained!  Yea for all of us!  It is still the phase where I need to remind him every once in a while, but otherwise, he is doing fantastic!

*The weather has turned COLD in Savannah.  I have had my heat on all week, when last year I didn't run it once.  Our highs have been in the low 40's, and it even got down to 20 the other day.  I know that doesn't sound like much to those of you in colder climates, but if I have to live with sand gnats, I should not have to have a cold winter :).

*Derek has perfected many of his Star Wars impersonations – so funny!  I will have to post a video soon.

*Lily is so happy to be back at school with her friends.  I got to help make hot cocoa for her class last week, which was so much fun!

*I have been trying to get my deep cleaning done and things crossed off my "To Do List 2009" – I can't tell you how happy I was to cross off "defrost the freezer" and I can't wait to finish this crazy business with our home movies.

Well, I am going to try and sneak in a nap before I have to get Lily at school.  Hopefully I will get a chance to catch up on my google reader tonight and see how you all are :).
