The Holidays are crazy, but we have been trying to squeeze in some great little adventures as a family . . .

  • Decorating the house, having Lily help me with the tree, and watching Kevin perfect his Christmas lights even more than ever before - I didn't know it was possible.
  • Going to the mall to let the kids pick out their very own ornament.  Derek chose Rocket from Little Einsteins – mostly because it played a song, which he plays all day long.  IMG_3610
Lily picked one named "Lily Fairy" – no other ornament compared once she read that it had her name :).

  • Eating Krispy Kreme donuts in the shape of a snowman – and having them go the extra mile to give the kids hats and balloons.
  • Baking spritz cookies with Lily.  Her favorite part was sprinkling the sugar.  And later baking with my friend Victoria too.
  • Volunteering in Lily's classroom and helping the kids make Christmas ornaments for their tree.   But even more fun, helping with her class Christmas party – they were all so excited and cute!
  • My Young Women's and Book Club Christmas parties – I know, not with family, but so much fun!!
  • Having Kevin take the long way home one night so the kids could look at Christmas lights in the neighborhood.
  • Going on some fun dates to different Christmas parties our friends threw – so much fun!!
  • Listening to Kevin play Christmas songs on the piano or his guitar.  Lily really loves "The Twelve Days of Christmas," and so he sat and played it for her while she sang it with him.  It was even funnier when Kevin kept changing the words and making my little OCD girl mad – he he!  He is quite the tease.
  • Sorting presents with Kevin, and then wrapping them while we watched a movie together.  (Which reminds of a Derek adventure that I will have to post separately . . .)

Sounds like you are having a great Christmas so far. How could Kevin perfect the lights?!? When you do have a house, make sure you buy him a ladder so he doesn’t have to do what he did in Monterey! I’m baking your chocolate chip cookies right now with red and green M&M’s for our Primary class tomorrow. Yum!
