This has felt like a very long week, but looking back I really can't remember much about it.  I think it felt so long because I was feeling awful, as I am still fighting the same cold I got back in the end of July.  It seemed whenever I was almost over it, something would happen to lower my immune system and it would come back with a vengeance.

This week it felt as if my body had given up fighting it, and after already going to the doctor, only to come home with allergy meds (which didn't help), I was at the end of my rope.  I didn't even have energy to move.  So, after another trip to the doctor (this time coming home with an antibiotic and an inhaler), and a beautiful blessing from Kevin, I am finally getting well.

I am even hoping that I will even begin being able to taste food again soon :).  On another positive note, Dr's appointments did make it possible for me to get to have lunch with my friend Cindy this week, which was so fun!

In other news, it was a GREAT week for Lily.  After starting the week with a "straight face" at school (which took away ten minutes of recess and 20 minutes of centers – is it just me, or is that excessive??), she got green happy faces every other day!!  The most she had ever received before was two in one week, and we were so proud of her.  She is trying so hard.

Because she did so well, we went out to celebrate.  She chose Chili's for dinner, where she had "the best dinner ever," and then we rented the new Mickey Mouse Clubhouse movie for her and Derek.  She was so happy.   And hey, tomorrow after her piano lesson, she has her first soccer game.  So fun!

And I must tell you about her conversation with Kevin this morning, as he was helping her with some coloring, since I am rambling anyway.  Kevin, trying to get her to color more neatly said, "Lily, I always wish that you would color like a big girl."  To which Lily answered, turning sweetly to face him, "I always wish that I could fly."  Nice.

Derek is having a bit of a rough week, but that is mostly to do with the fact that he finally caught my cold.  (It had already cycled through Kevin and Lily long ago.)  He has been enjoying getting to watch a little extra Star Wars everyday while he is sick.  In fact, it is the cutest thing ever to hear him ask to please watch The Phantom Menace.  (That is his favorite, and I think it is because he looks like Anakin.)

So, here's my little guy, wrapped in his monkey blanket, watching his daily dose of Star Wars:

Oh Lisa, I’m so sorry that you have been sick for so long. Sheesh! That’s a LONG time. I hope that antibiotics kick in soon.
I loved Lily’s comment back to her Daddy about “wishes”. So sweet and sassy! That’s great that she has been doing so well in school, too 🙂

LOVE Lily’s comment! 🙂 And I hope you guys are feeling better soon. Anna had the “choke-ups” yesterday, and while we feel awful that she feels awful, there is something just so sweet about watching a sick kid laying on the couch with her/his blanket.

Definitely excessive, but YEAY Lily. In Kindy, Ellie got in trouble the first few weeks of school for talking in the bathroom? WHATEVER! It’s the bathroom.
I hate allergies too. Mine are finally getting better.
