* I had a visit from my good friend Cindy, whom I hadn't seen in over a year.  The kids loved playing with her again, and I had such a great time talking – and I got to finally meet her beautiful baby girl!

* I had my yearly eye exam, and once again, I had to try and drive myself home unable to see.  I was squinting, despite my sunglasses, and had no close up vision.  It was not a safe combination.

* I ate out all by myself for the first time since Lily was born.  It was strange, but would have been rather nice, if it hadn't been right after my eye appointment and I wasn't blind.  I went to Panera Bread Company for lunch, and was so excited about it, but when I went inside, I couldn't read the menu – big or little.  I finally ordered what the cashier suggested, and then I made a complete fool out of myself trying to eat food I couldn't see clearly on my plate.  Fun times :).

* I caught Derek in a rare moment of stillness.  It only lasted about a minute, but it was definitely picture worthy.IMG_1628

* I survived Sunday :).

* Kevin, the kids and I went on the youth temple trip.  They needed more men to help out, and so I stayed outside and watched our kids, as well as my friend Dawn's kids.  It was VERY hot and they were wild and crazy, but it was worth it to let Dawn have the chance to go.  My least favorite part of it, aside from the heat, was when I took Derek into the bathroom and the girls started screaming in the temple waiting room – so embarrassing.  My favorite parts were watching the kids do Yoga out on the lawn, and the fact that Lily sat with a table full of boys for dinner.  I still laugh when I think about her asking for a napkin, and three of them offering her one.  So cute!

* Lily, after a very rough day, fell sound asleep on Kevin, and then Derek crawled up to join them.  It was very sweet, especially considering how bad the day had been for her.

 * I bought our tickets to go see Wicked when it comes to Atlanta in the fall!!!  And because I am an AMEX card-holder, I got to buy them 2 1/2 weeks earlier than the general public, and so we have awesome seats :).  I am so excited!  I haven't seen a Broadway play since I saw Les Miserables on my senior trip 12 years ago.

IMG_1643 * I finally finished putting together a birthday package for my friend's son who is on a mission.  Now I just need to mail it.  It took me forever, mostly because I tried to get all creative and have a scripture that went with everything I sent.  Here are a few of the things in it . . .

* Because of the rain off and on all week, it was the first time this summer we made it an entire week without going to the pool.  Sad, but at least it cut down on my laundry :).

And that was this past week.  Next week I have the best adventure ever waiting for me – a visit from my sister, Holly!!

    What a fun filled week! Cindy’s baby is adorable! It was so sweet of you to watch the girls so Dawn could do baptisms. You’re a great friend! I assume the package is for Justin – he’s going to love it. Again, it’s great that there are people like you in the world that are so thoughtful and creative!

    Ahh! You are going to LOVE Wicked. It’s awesome.
    Panera has really good food. I love their tomato soup.
    And I hate having my eyes dialated, too. Luckily, I’ve only had to have it done once or twice out of all the many time’s I’ve been to the eye doctor.

    Oo! I am so excited for you to see Wicked this fall. Ironically, i was just thinking about my favorite musicals and how I could get myself to see another one soon.
