As I said in Lily's birthday post, she chose to go to Sea World instead of a party, and so after she was done with preschool on Monday, we all headed to Orlando, Florida.  We made pretty great time, and after settling into our hotel we went on a search for the Cheesecake Factory :).

We found it it tucked away into this fabulous mall – it was quite the high end mall, complete with a Cartier and Tiffany's, etc, etc, etc.  Our meal was delicious, and we took our cheesecake to go :).  (I had the Chocolate Mouse Cheesecake, and Kevin had the Lemon Raspberry – which was amazing!!)

The next day we headed to Sea World to take advantage of the "Here's to the Heroes" program for military families, and enjoy our day.  Here is our "Good List" . . .

  • Going for free – thank you military 🙂
  • A smaller crowd at the park, since it was a Tuesday and school was still in session.
  • Lily being ecstatic to see everything.
  • Derek finally getting into it, after saying "Time to go home.  Let's go home." all morning.
  • Kevin and I each getting a ride on Kraken, and not waiting a minute in line.
  • Lily and I going on the Journey to Atlantis, and not getting all wet.
  • Shamu's Happy Harbor – it wasn't built the last time we went and it was awesome!  Complete with roller-coasters, a carousel and other great rides for the kids.  Oh, and it had a sprinkler park, which Lily loved, but Derek was afraid of.
  • Getting into all of the big shows and getting nice seats, and seeing all of the exhibits we wanted to see.
  • Talking to my mom on the phone, and having my sister  (who was with her) just happen to need me to get something for her son.  He had gotten a souvenir on their trip last year to Sea World, and his little brother had just broken it.
  • Ending the day at Dolphin Cove, and even though I didn't get to pet a dolphin this time, I was there when the trainers fed them, and it was so fun to watch up close.
  • Surviving the drive home Tuesday night, even though both of us were completely exhausted.  Poor Kevin braved it and was awesome, as usual.

It was a wonderful trip, and although it was short, we had such a great time together.  Here are some pictures of our adventure, and please ignore how sweaty we are in all of them – it was really hot and humid in Florida :).

I love the crab ride! Our boys have gone on a similar ride at Great America several times and it is always so funny to watch.

Too fun! I’m not going to show Abi, or else she’s going to add that to her list of what she wants to do for her birthday! I’m glad you had a great time – and got to eat at the Cheesecake Factory!!

So FUN!!! I checked out the photo album and just LOVED how cute Derek looked on the ride. He looks so little nestled into that big seat! I’m glad you had such a great time. Going to seaworld is on our family “to do” list as well. Mainly because I have always wanted to go play there 🙂
