My baby girl is five years old today – a benchmark of sorts. It is the birthday where they really become a "kid." She is getting all tall and skinny on me, I buy her clothes in the girl's section now, and she will be leaving me for kindergarten in the fall. Where did the time go? Wasn't she just my tiny little 6 pound baby? So, in honor of her birthday, I have decided to take a look back at Lily through her five years of life by showing you her baby portraits (Please excuse the poor quality of our scanner.) . . .
7 weeks old – Notice the "O" shape of her mouth. It was because I had just popped her pacifier out of her mouth so the photographer could catch her before she started screaming :). Yes, it was one of those days.
4 months old – She was starting to go bald, and this was one of the last pigtails I could get in her hair before it grew back in around 7 months. My mom used to watch me struggle to get that hair in the rubber-band and laugh. (And a side note – they chose this as their picture of the month. I am convinced it was because of her huge, chubby cheeks – he he!)
8 months old – Lily was wearing a special outfit her Grandma Valerie bought her to be reunited with her daddy in. (He had been at Basic training.)
1 year old – She was so adorable – even though she kept putting the props in her mouth :). (Notice her pig tail is finally a nice length again.)
1 1/2 years old – She would not hold still for these pictures, and so they brought out the horse. The greatest part is that it was built NOT to rock, but Lily still managed to do it :). She was so pretty with her golden curls and toothless grin.
2 years old – The best Lily ever was in a photo shoot. In fact, she was so cute in each picture that I not only bought a ton of each one, I had to buy a collage to send her daddy at training.
3 years old – Kevin loves Lily in a ponytail, and we did it for these. Even though it is hiding in the picture, it was adorable!
4 years old - I started taking the pictures by now, and I waited to get these until we went to Texas, so that I could take pictures of my baby in the blue bonnets :).
4 1/2 years old – I love how the pictures I took this day really captured who she was, and this was one of my favorites :).
5 years old – My grown up little girl!!
