Here are a few of the highlights from our awesome weekend.
*Kevin getting off early on Friday, and taking us out to dinner at Texas Roadhouse – yum! And then renting Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium to watch with the kids.
*Driving to Charleston on Saturday morning with our friends, Victoria and John.
Victoria sat up front with me, while John and Kevin enjoyed "true road trip mode," playing Guitar Hero for the whole two hour drive. (The kids had a blast watching them at it.)
* Lily remembering her safety rules. When we got to town, all of downtown was blocked off for a bridge run they had in Charleston, we were winding through the few open streets, when Lily had to go potty. Kevin dropped us at a corner, and when we came out of the building, they were gone and I realized my cellphone was in the car. Lily let me know that since we were lost, we needed to stay in one place. Then she saw one of the cops that were directing traffic. She reminded me that we should ask him for help. So, after she dragged me over to him, he let me borrow his cellphone, and soon we were reunited with Kevin and the gang :).
*Going to the South Carolina Aquarium. (And hey, because of the race, the Aquarium was almost empty :), although we did have quite the walk to were we parked.)
Check out all the fun animals we saw – and these are just a few :).
The River Otters were awake and playing this time! So much fun and the kids loved it! (And so did we, actually.)
Lily went on an "adventure" at the new exhibit, Camp Carolina – complete with skunks, snakes, owls, a hollow tree, and a climbing wall.
*Lunch at On the Border – a delicious Mexican restaurant. Yum!
*Kevin going to the Priesthood session of General Conference while Lily, Derek and I cuddled up on the couch and watched Swiss Family Robinson. (One of my recent acquisitions – I also just got Newsies, and Pollyanna.)
*Watching Conference, or as Derek called it, "the Prophet Show," all day on Sunday (watching the sessions from yesterday we missed while out of town too). It was such a wonderful meeting and I loved hearing our new prophet speak and working on Lily's primary worksheet with her.
*Having the Cardiff family over for lunch in between sessions today. Always a fun time :).
It was definitely the makings of a wonderful weekend!
