Spring has finally come to Savannah. Usually it hits around mid January, but this year it kept teasing us, throwing in a 75-80 degree day here and there, but then going back to the low 60's and even 50's. It is fun to finally be back in our shorts again, although it also means our AC will be running a lot more, but it's all good.
This past weekend we had a great time taking advantage of the weather. It turned out to be a pretty busy weekend for me, and Kevin stepped in to watch the kids, as I had two different photo shoots. (In fact, I have been wanting to post for days, but have been held back by the fact that I have been unable to do anything on the computer the past few days other than edit pictures.)
The first one was Friday evening taking prom pictures out at a beach house on Tybee Island. It was a blast, and although it was a little more rushed than last year, I loved doing it just as much. Prom pictures are my favorite to take!!
That night, Kevin and I stayed up way too late playing pinochle with our friends, John and Victoria. the boys won the first game, but then we came back and destroyed them – so fun!
The next morning I went back out to Tybee to do a family portrait session for my friend Jen. It was also so fun, and it was such a wonderful location! I could have taken tons more, but the sun, and Jen's new twins would not have gone along with the plans :).
It was also such a beautiful day, that Kevin came a little later and met us there. That way we got to actually play at the beach. It wiped us out though, as it always does, and so we spent the rest of the afternoon taking it easy.
That night was the General Young Women's Meeting broadcast, which turned out to be an adventure. We were there early to have refreshments (as it doesn't start until 8pm), and noticed that something was not working right. At 8:05, when it was still not working, we headed around the corner to my house. After banishing Kevin to the back room to watch college basketball, we were able to watch it comfortably in my living room, as I had DVRed it. (It turned out that terrible storm a few weeks ago blew out the church's satellite receiver – crazy) It turned out to be a perfect evening though, and a wonderful meeting.
With all of the craziness of the rest of the weekend, Sunday was only a little crazy, as we had a potluck lunch after church. With kids as young as mine, and Kevin being busy with clerk stuff after church, it was almost more trouble than it was worth. But hey, I didn't have to make dinner :).
And now it is Wednesday, and it has been nice to have things a little more calm. Now, if only the maintenance guys could finish working on my shower . . . but that is an entirely different story :).
