This week has been a wild one, and it started that way from the get-go. This may be a little much, but I need to record it for posterity ๐
MONDAY
On Monday, trying to take advantage of Lily and Kevin's day off, we ran errands, had lunch, and played together. However, at 3pm Kevin was on the road for another TDY. It was a sad and hectic end to the day. The day wasn't over though, because the kids and I had Kevin's friend Andrew over for dinner, since he was "out processing, and his wife has already moved to their new location. (He was supposed to stay with us, but Kevin's trip made that impossible.) After that was over, I spent all night doing laundry, since I knew I wouldn't have time to do it on . . .
TUESDAY
We were up bright and early – What am I saying? We are always up bright and early :). One of the Sister Missionaries in our area was going home, and the other one getting transferred, and since I love them both so much, I took them to the mission office in Macon, GA. The drive there was so fun, saying good bye to them was so sad, and the drive home was SO LONG! I finally started feeling the effects of all those hours driving in the car, and I was so tired. I kept calling people, but nobody could talk, and so I changed out the kid's Winnie the Pooh for High School Musical, and then we all sang along.
Seven hours later, we were home, and I was so tired that I didn't even notice that someone had backed into the garage we rent. Derek had already pushed the button, and I turned to hear an awful noise behind me. So now the broken door was stuck! This was not good, as we store a lot of stuff in there, and Andrew had a bunch of Army stuff we had in there for him, which was now trapped. Oh, and did I mention he was coming that night to pick it up? After a bunch of phone calls and meeting with the maintenance guy, we finally got it so it would open enough to get stuff out, and close all the way. After that, I was so exhausted that I couldn't even look at the five loads of laundry on my couch :).
WEDNESDAY
It was a good day, but BUSY. After dropping Lily at preschool, I rushed to an appointment for Derek, and then rushed to my visiting teaching appointments. My companion is AWESOME and I just love the girls we teach, and so even though it was crazy, it was good.
THURSDAY
I was so happy that we had NOWHERE we had to be, and so we stayed home, relaxed, and cleaned the house. It was definitely a much needed break from the chaos, and although we still had to beat a rainstorm home from our quick trip to the grocery store, it was good. The best part of Thursday, however, was once the kids were in bed, and I watched The Jane Austin Book Club. I didn't even have anything I was working on – I really just sat and watched the movie and relaxed, which is very big for me. And the movie was actually really fun :).
FRIDAY
More school for Lily, more visiting teaching, and more errands, but at 5:45 pm, Kevin was home!! Yea! His TDY is for 2 weeks, but since he is only 3 hours away, he got to come home for the weekend :). Best thing ever!! The kids were so happy to have daddy home, and they played and played.
SATURDAY
We had such a great family day, visiting friends, haircuts, getting great Mexican food, playing together, and so many other things. Lily had a birthday party that afternoon, and so Kevin and Derek got their dad/son bonding time playing video games, which is always funny. Best day ever.
SUNDAY
Although we had a good day, it had a sad end, as we had to say good bye to Kevin. Hey, but at least when he gets home on Friday, he won't have to leave again for a few weeks :). Thank goodness I have my sweet kids here to keep me company and keep me hopping. Here's to another great, and hopefully not as crazy, week ๐
