Img_8181_2 Oh, I also really am in love with my little man, Derek.  He is such a sweetheart, and although he has his moments lately (He has added trying to slam the door as he runs into his room crying), he is so happy and fun, that he always makes me smile.  The other day I caught him just sitting there studying the High School Musical Sheet Music, and then taking it to the piano and pretending to play it – so cute!

He is also obsessed with sports (I wonder where he got that from . . . could it be the father who has already taught him the difference between baseball, basketball, football, and golf??).  He walks around with a ball in his hand, or his toy golf clubs.  Today he found a baseball mitt we bought for Lily, and ran around with it for a while, throwing a little ball around the house.  And one day he lovingly carried Lily's Dora bat out to the care with us, and held it the whole car ride.  Silly guy!

Derek, because of his "curious" nature, does spend more time contained than he would like.  Like the other day, when Lily and I were making her Valentines, he had to spend the whole time in his chair, since he kept terrorizing us.  (We were going to do it during his nap, but he refused to take one that day.)  Img_8297

So, to make it better, I gave him a coloring book and markers.  Before I knew it, he had completely eaten the tip off one of the markers.  So I gave him crayons, which he proceeded to crumble.  And I wonder why I don't give in to his coloring requests more often?  He he!   He also really likes to get in on the fun, whenever Lily and Daddy are playing with Legos and other projects.

I sure do love that little guy of mine!

I ditto the twistable crayons! They are the best. Especially for crazy little boys.
