. . . and in with the new! Kevin finally got his wish, after years of bugging me to replace certain things, it finally came about, and all within a few days.
First, it was my cell phone. I had my old Samsung for almost 4 years, and I was perfectly content. It had served me well, and had survived numerous adventures, countless crashes to the ground below, and even being dropped by Lily into a glass of water when it was 2 weeks old. Well, after the 6th time the battery just fell off the phone, Kevin took me in to get my shiny new green phone. It is very fun, and since he loves me so much, he immediately installed "Fabulous" as my ringtone :).
The next thing I had to replace was my watch, something I really didn't want to do, but was forced to, because not only did Derek mange to break my clasp so that it fell off my wrist with the slightest touch, but the battery died again.
If it wasn't for the clasp, I would have just replaced the battery. I LOVE this watch – Kevin gave it to me 7 years ago for my birthday when we were engaged. So, with a sad heart, I made my way with Kevin and the kids out to search. Finally I found an acceptable replacement, and even though it is very nice, I am having major trouble with the fact it only has the number 12 on the face. I need all the numbers. I do really like it though, and although I haven't finished mourning my old watch with the pretty blue face, I am VERY grateful my new one has a Derek-proof clasp :).
Last, but not least, is the thing Kevin has been trying to have me get forever – a nice pair of sunglasses. I am perfectly content with a $5 pair from Target, so if my kids ruin it – which they have on many occasions – it is no big deal.
Well, when we were buying my watch, I turned around and noticed a really pretty pair of black Ralph Lauren sunglasses – just the shape I like and everything. As I was turning back around, i noticed the tag on the glasses – they were marked down from $90 to $30. I also noticed the sign above them, which said an additional 30% would be taken off at the register. Now I was really intrigued, and so I tried them on, and loving them myself, and getting a thumbs-up from Kevin, we bought them. Kevin and I were joking on the way home, that at $25, they were still the most expensive pair of sunglasses I have ever owned. Fun times :).
And I have to say, that as reluctant i was to replace all my old favorite things, I am having lots of fun with the new ones :).
