Saying that Derek is a little obsessed with guitars if really putting it lightly.  In truth, he is VERY obsessed, and not only does he beg his dad to play Guitar Hero constantly just so he can watch – which, amazingly enough, Kevin doesn't give in to – but he carries his toy guitar with him everywhere. 

We gave Derek the toy electric guitar for his birthday, and you would have thought we were the greatest parents in the world.  He loves it, and you should see him rocking out – it is hilarious!  Once, he even threw it down like a rock star (I think that was after watching a character do it on the video game).  And like I said, he drags it with him everywhere, which even led to Kevin imposing a new rule on the boy: No guitars on mom and dad's bed :).

Lily also loves Derek's guitar, but the funniest thing ever, is when I watch her sneak over to it and turn the volume all the way down so you can't hear it anymore.  I always laugh, and then go fix it for Derek, who does the most hilarious celebration dance when the music returns.

I have to say though, that my favorite thing, was the day Derek was coming out of the bathroom, wrapped in a towel just out of the bath.  He saw his guitar, dropped his towel, and proceeded to run around the house naked while he played his guitar.  (It was so funny, I had to take pictures, however, I will be saving them for later blackmail and such, and will not be posting them – he he!) 

So, hey, maybe we have a guitarist in our future.  Fun stuff!
