Dreams do become reality, patience really does pay off, and I have the proof . . .
My beautiful 2007 Honda Odyssey EXL in Ocean Mist Blue (the prettiest color ever!!)
For the past two years Kevin and I have lived, or tried to live, with only one car. It was not easy, but we had a goal in mind – my minivan.
I have been dreaming about this car forever, and now it is mine. And it has all the bells and whistles I cared about, that and the color I had to have from the first time I saw it. I plan on having it forever :).
We actually went in to get it two weeks ago, but since we were still waiting on Kevin's reenlistment bonus, it sat at the dealership mocking me until today. We went in to sign all the papers and get my baby, and although Derek was quite the character the whole time, everything else went very smoothly.
Here are some pictures from our adventure . . .
The car Derek wanted to buy. (He kept running away and trying to get inside of it.)
We finally just locked Derek in the stroller – and bribed him with their free Krispy Kreme donuts and a coloring book.
Derek and I with my fun new toy!
I had to hold Derek back from attacking all the buttons and knobs – he even stole the keys and tried to put them into the ignition – not a good idea!!
He was not happy when we took him away from the car.
But who wouldn't be sad if they were taken away from all of these great buttons and gadgets?
And here is our fun back seat up . . . and down.
And here is the center row – ignore my stuff sitting there and notice the removable seat that goes in the middle. It is awesome and is super easy to put in or take out.
We left the dealership and picked Lily up from Preschool and she was so excited when she saw me – she kept saying, "Mom, did you get the van? Did you get it? Is it blue, your favorite color?" Here she is enjoying her new seat :).
And here is Derek. He made himself right at home and initiated the car with a nap. What a sweetheart!! (Notice Lily's backpack in the middle seat – she put it there and said, "There is a seat just for Dora backpack!")
And here is a picture of both of our Hondas side by side – His and Hers, you might say :). I am so happy with mine!
