My parents left us early this morning, and although they will be back in 2 weeks for our trip to Disney World, we miss them already. We had such a wonderful time, I had to do a slide show to contain all the pictures.
Here are some of the many highlights of their time here:
- Touring downtown Savannah, and getting to walk around a lot of the places I have always wanted to explore.
- Having lunch at The Lady and Sons, Paula Deen's restaurant – so yummy!
- Getting candy at the the Savannah Candy Kitchen on River Street.
- Arranging a Ghost Tour for my parents – someday I will go on one myself :).
- Having my parents watch the kids so Kevin and I could not only go out to dinner, but go to Lily's School Orientation meeting (which made us feel really old, by the way – he he!).
- Watching movies, playing games, and just hanging out with my parents. Because they had been on their mission, it had been way too long since they were able to visit.
Watching General Conference together. Kevin got to have company for the Priesthood session, and Lily especially loved playing Play-doh with Grandma Lynn during the Sunday afternnon session. - Having my dad take Derek on walks every day.
- Lily getting to go on a special date with my parents to the mall, where she got to get ice-cream, see the fish at Bass Pro-Shop (aka: "the War Store," as Lily calls it), and ride the carousel.
- Spending a day at the beach, which is always on the good list. Even though it was a little cold for us (80 degrees), it was a blast. Lily was absolutely hilarious as she chased the seagulls around, and Derek was so fun to watch as he dug in the sand and ran away from the waves.
All in all, it was a wonderful week. And even though I am worn out from all the fun, I am so happy they were able to come. You know how I love visitors :).
