Img_6134_2 I realized that it had been a while since I had posted exclusively about my crazy little monkey, AKA: Derek.  He is as wild and crazy as ever, and is always creating some sort of mischief or other.

His newest discovery has been to push a chair up to the gate I have for our kitchen, and then lean across, open the silverware drawer, and empty it – knives first, of course.  The only way to eliminate this problem would be to get rid of our dining room chairs, and I am just not ready to go there, so instead I am policing him every second he is awake.  And people wonder why I am so exhausted?

Img_6147 Derek also has an obsession with jewelry.  He has always loved to fiddle with my wedding ring, and grasps it like it is a security blanket when he is tired.  At times, he twirls it around my finger so much, that my finger hurts.  So, I decided to do something about it.  I took an old ring and attached it to his stuffed penguin.  Last night I tried to use this get my hand and ring free, but unfortunately, he wasn't buying it, and kept hucking the penguin across the room.  Oh well.  At least I tried.

Img_6144 But hey, he is absolutely adorable, even though he is trouble.  Yesterday I got out Lily's train set, and Derek sat and played with it for over an hour.  It was so fun to watch!!  I kept trying to take pictures, but then he would notice the camera and come over to see the picture.  I would send him back, take another picture, and then he would come back and want to see again.  This happened after EVERY picture.  Pretty funny.

What do I do with this silly little guy?  One second he is screaming bloody murder, and the next he is dazzling me with his smile.  I guess I will just take it a day at a time :).

PS.  A few last pictures of the little guy.

He looked so cute wearing Kevin's laker sweat band :).

Img_6112 Here he is after he "helped" me bake.  Img_5966

He had so much fun playing in the flour, and he made quite the mess.  It was EVERYWHERE and the foor was so slippery becaues of it.  It also looks like he might need his own apron :).

And of course, here he is in chillin' mode, just to prove that he does slow down every once in a while :).

He is so adorable, I love reading about the adventures you have with your kids. Not to mention the pictures–could those kids be any cuter?

He is such a cutie, and growing up so fast. It’s fun to compare him to Olivia! I completely understand the micshevious nature! Olivia likes to empty out my cupboards and it drives me crazy, but I don’t really have anywhere else to put my stuff. Eventually they learn!
