Sometimes as I watch Lily and Derek as they never seem to stop moving, I realize that they probably get that from me.  As much as I try to relax, I usually have something I am doing while I am trying to take it easy.  This is one of the many reasons that Kevin is so good for me, since he tends to make me slow down and cut out some of the craziness.  So today, I am going to relax – at least for the afternoon, especially after the craziness of the past few days . . .

Img_6123 On Friday I felt like I never got out of the car.  If I wasn't dropping someone off/picking someone up, I was running errands.  It was a good day though, and I even met my friend Kristi at the "soft play" at the mall, and so Derek got to run wild for an hour.

That night I picked up my friend September's two youngest sons, Caman (13) and Tazman (5), for the weekend.  (She was out west taking her son to the MTC.)  And of course, since I passed the Little Caesars on the way, we had to have pizza for dinner :).  Lily and Derek were ecstatic that Caman was staying over, and even more so when he watched High School Musical 2 with them.

Saturday was spent at the pool, playing Star Wars Legos and Karaoke Revolution on the Playstation, and keeping Tazman and Lily from riling each other up too much.  I also got to teach Caman how to make a few more of my recipes – he has got to be the greatest 13 year old boy ever.

That night he watched the kids while Kevin went on a double date with Andrew and Jeren to the Mellow Mushroom in downtown Savannah.  They had the most delicious calzones!!!!  (On our way to and from our car, we passed a haunted mansion.  The second time we went by, they even had a ghost tour in session there.  I guess Savannah is supposed to be the most haunted city in the country.)

Sunday was a little wild, but then my Sundays usually are.  Kevin had to be at the church by 6:30 am, which reminded me how much I love his help getting the kids out the door to church.  I taught sharing time in Primary, and did a get to know you activity with the kids.  It went well, but I always feel dead on the Sundays I teach.

After church, when Kevin finally got to come home from meetings, Haden, September's other son, came over for dinner, and turned out to be a perfect sports buddy for Kevin.  They watched golf and football together, while Taz went a little crazy with Lily, and Caman and I made No-bake cookies :).  Haden took the other boys home, and our apartment seemed so quiet.

Img_6126  Monday was a whirlwind, and Tuesday I had to clean up after the weekend with the boys.  Lily and I made a list, and she helped me do the things one by one.  She was thrilled to get to check something off with her red pen when we accomplished a task.  By the end, she decided to check everything off, even if it want done :).  It sure was fun to have a "helper" – even though she couldn't do much, having company while cleaning was wonderful.  And Derek, of course, followed us around trying to undo our work.

Collage_2 Tuesday night was great – Kevin brought home Chinese food, and I had my book club meeting.  We had read Emily of New Moon, which I liked so much, that I decided to read the other two books in the series.  I had too much fun talking and just hanging out with the girls.

However, the craziest thing of the whole weekend happened on my way home from book club.  I am always telling Kevin that I have never seen a LIVE armadillo, which always seemed weird considering how many dead ones there are on the side of the road.

Well, as I was driving along, suddenly in my headlights was an armadillo scurrying across the road.  Since I was going 60 mph, there was no way to avoid it completely, but I tried to swerve enough so my wheels didn't hit it.  Sadly, it didn't work, and I killed the poor thing.  I felt really bad about it.

I have to say, that other than the crazy epidode with the armadillo, and even though I was very busy, it was a very fun few days, but now I am definitely ready to take it easy.

PS.  Another thing I did this weekend was set up a blog for my parents :).  It is pretty fun, and it will be interesting to see how well they do with the technology.

I had to LOL that you hit an armadillo. I saw a couple of dead ones when I went to Texas once. With there hard shells, it seems like it would be pretty crunchy. Sorry, that was gross. Take a break and relax girl. I do know how you feel though, I feel the same way. My life is go go go go go. I can’t sit down and do nothing, even if I am taking a break to watch TV or something (well, what’s TV? I haven’t watched it in months) I have to fold laundry or finish a project. Aren’t these supposed to be the best years of our lives?

You did not! That is hilarious that after we saw you last night, you drove over a poor, little armadillo!

Don’t worry i grew up in the south and never saw an armadillo either, alive. Such a busy weekend but looked like a whole lot of fun!
Derek seems so much like Garrett! But what a good idea to make a list and get Lily to check it off I will have to try that one with Madison.

What a fun weekend. You guys sure do eat out a lot. Yum! I laughed so hard when I read about your encounter with the armadillo. It’s great that you get Lily to help you out with the chores.

Sounds like another fun filled weekend! You do keep busy. We had our own encounter with an armadillow in Oklahoma. We were on a back highway going somewhere close to 100 mph and there came an armadillo in our headlights. We were going so fast that we didn’t even try to swerve. Poor thing. Oh and in El Salavdor some man had caught 2 of them and invited us over for dinner. I passed 🙂

Please tell me that since you have written this you have taken a nice long hot bubble bath and curled up to read a good book?! YOU my friend amaze me with your ability to run so fast, but make sure and get some R&R in too, if at all possible! And sorry about the armadillo. My first thought about that experience was exactly what Sheila said, lol!!!
