It has been a great week, and a few things have really help make it even better:

*Lily calling me her "hero" after I fixed the sound on a computer game she was playing.  It was the cutest thing ever!!

*Derek sleeping for four straight hours for the FIRST time in his life!!!  And no more snoring!!  From here on out, it can only get better – and hopefully in the next few months he might finally sleep through the night.  Miracles do happen!

*Having my first photography class on Tuesday night :).  I have been wanting to take a class forever, and finally found a great one at a time I can do it :).  Plus, two of my great friends, Kristi and Amber are in it with me – so much fun!

*Having our first book club meeting :)!  There were only 3 of us able to make it, but it was so much fun!  I had it at my house after the kids were in bed and while Kevin was playing softball, which was perfect.  Our book from last month was Mirror, Mirror by Gregory Maguire, which I didn't end up liking very much.  Next month our book is Twilight by Stephanie Meyer – because I am all about sharing the love – he he!  We also have an online book club going, if you want to check it out: J'aime lire

*Going on a date with Kevin to see "Oceans 13" – sooo good!!!  Oh, and having the sweetest 13 year old boy, Camen, babysit Lily and Derek.  Then topping off the night by going to Cici's pizza as a family and having Camen come along :).

*Having our first field trip for our photography class.  It was so much fun, and although it was pretty hot and humid with plenty of bugs, I got some fun pictures.  I am really learning how to use all the functions on my camera – yeah!!  If you want to see all of my shoot, go to the web album.  (Note: we were not allowed to edit at all, and had to take the same picture with three different light readings, just in case you are wondering what the assignment was.)  Here is one of my favorites, even though the breeze made it a little off center – enjoy :).

Img_4759 ps.  I have to pick my four favorite subjects to bring to class.  I have already decided on the rose, but which other 3 do you think I should include?

i love that the flower isn’t centered it’s a little more visually intereting, IMO, everyone’s different though.
that’s so cute that lily called you her hero and that Derek is sleeping better, it makes me realize how spoiled I’ve been with Carlee and her good sleeping habits.

    1. the rose
    2. the hydrangea
    3. the brick/lattice wall in the distance.
I also think the rose is more visually interesting off center. I always think of the rule of thirds — especially when taking horizontal photos.
    love the hero comment!

Don’t you love book club? We spend about 2 hours chatting and eating, 20 minute on the book, and then another 2 hours chatting/trying to pick a book for next month.
    Enjoy some sleep 🙂
