I can't remember the last long weekend we had together, and so I had really been looking forward to all the fun stuff we could do together.  It all started on Friday when Kevin got off work early, and my friend Lynnae took Lily to play for a few hours.  Kevin and I took full advantage of the opportunity to deep clean and de-clutter.  We are used to doing this every year when we move, but since we have now been in the same place for a record 20 months, we had to take initiative to get it done.  After it was all said and done, our closets are a lot emptier, our storage shed is manageable and organized, we had 7 bags of trash, and a huge pile of stuff to give to Goodwill.   That night we celebrated by taking it easy and watching "Night at the Museum."  (It was SO fun and SO good, and there weren't any gross or bad parts.)

The next day Kevin finished our spring cleaning, while Lily and I went to a Primary activity.  Another ward invited our primary to come, and so I had the luxury of just being a parent – which meant that I got to take pictures :).  It is the first Primary activity I have pictures of, since usually I am running around like a crazy person running the thing.  It was an "Amazing Race" theme, and the kids went from city to city in the Old Testament and had to solve a problem (IE. build an ark out of spaghetti and marshmallows) in order to earn a piece of their lunch.  By the end of their trip, they had collected quite a feast :).  Lily loved it!

Sunday was a nice day.  Everything went pretty smoothly in Primary, except for the last five minutes when one of our cute little sunbeams stood up and started throwing-up all over the floor.  All of us adults flew into action, and while I distracted the rest of the kids, her mom was found, the mess cleaned up, and everything taken care of. 

The one really hard thing was that the little girl threw-up right in front of Lily's chair, and since we obviously moved Lily out of the way, she was no longer near her chair.  To some kids this wouldn't be a problem, especially if there was a pile of puke on the floor in front of it, but for my little OCD girl, she HAS to sit in the same chair.  She flipped out and had to get dragged from the room so she wouldn't go sit down in the puke.  Oh well, you can't win 'em all :).

The most exciting thing about Sunday was a great guy who served in our ward forever while he was on his mission, came back to visit with his amazing wife.  It was so good to see Jeremy again and to meet Jen, his wife. We had them over for dinner that night, and it was a blast!  It was especially exciting to see what a great couple they were, since we had been a little nervous when he had told us that he had a girl back home.  Just goes to show you that sometimes it does work out when a girl waits, even if it is just one in a hundred :).

Today has been the best day as well.  This morning we enjoyed the gorgeous weather and played tennis.  This has been something we have been trying to do regularly for a while, but have never been able to figure out what to do with the boy so that he wouldn't run away or scream the whole time.  We finally figured out that we should lock both kids in the court with us, since it isn't like we are hitting the ball hard enough to hurt them.  They love it, and we have a blast battling it out on the court.

After tennis we went home and had lunch, and then we were back out and on our way to the pool.  It was so nice, and both the kids were so cute.  Derek was in complete chillin' mode in his little floating boat, and Lily swam around in a little floating fish.  (I wish I had pictures, but somehow I lost my lense cap and don't want to take my camera anywhere until I find it.)  Now we are home again, showered, and ready to take it easy.  Which is the real way one should spend a long weekend – relaxing 🙂 – and watching Star Wars, which is what Lily and Kevin are doing as I type this.

PS.  Just a quick picture to show you that Derek is at it again.  I was getting some laundry started, and Derek took Lily's hamper and filled it up with silverware from the kitchen drawer.   That boy!!
