I know that I have sort of disappeared this past week, but things have been like a whirlwind ever since I got home from Texas. Last Wednesday and Thursday, I had to spend the day recovering from vacation – laundry, grocery shopping, phone calls, Primary stuff, cleaning, etc.
One highlight of Thursday and Friday was having Camen, my friend's 13 yr old son, come and play with me and the kids. They loved the attention, and I enjoyed his company and help – he even took out the trash for me, without being asked. Somebody was taught well :). It really helped fill the time before Kevin returned.
I also spent Friday morning taking pictures for my friend, Lynnae. It was quite an adventure, mostly because she wanted indoor and outdoor pictures for both of her kids (3 yr old girl and 4 month old boy). I have to admit, that it was a little exhausting, and taught me to limit the amount of sessions I do at once.
It was also an experiment of sorts, since I don't really have the set-up for indoor pics, but it seemed to work. And most important, Lynnae was very happy with the pictures and we got some great shots :).
The BEST part of Friday was picking Kevin up from the airport that afternoon. The kids and I were so happy to have daddy back! Lily kept telling me that "now we are four again, like we are supposed to be." And of course, he came home bearing gifts for the kids 🙂 – these fun bouncy balloons, that Lily tried to use as a hippity-hop. And he brought me a Univ. of Texas shirt too, which I love. We really enjoyed being together again.
The next day was also very exciting, because my sister Holly arrived from Idaho!! But you'll have to read all about it on the post below.
The biggest news, however, is about Derek. I had his appointment with the ENT on Monday, and we are a "go" with his surgery to get his tonsils and adenoids removed. As hard as it is to know that my baby will be having surgery, it is so exciting to know that we will be solvng his sleep problem. The surgery was a miracle worker for Lily, and I feel so blessed that I got a doctor to listen to me much earlier this time. I'll have to keep everyone updated on how it goes.
