Derek is such a funny little monkey, and very much like a little ferret at the same time.  He has this thing where he will scatter things throughout the entire house – it's not just toys from the bedroom in the bedroom, or pans in the kitchen, it is stuff from every room of the house in every other room in the house.  What results are these little piles all over the place.  Piles with things taken out of bathroom drawers, stuff from my desk, toys from Lily's bedroom and the living room, utensils smuggled out of the kitchen, and things from our closet or our dresser drawers.  It's like solving a mystery just trying to clean up after him.  Silly boy!Img_3547

Another way Derek has been getting into trouble, is that he has finally really mastered climbing – I have been dreading this day!  Last week Kevin had his laptop on the kitchen table, and with me sitting on the chair next to it, Derek made his break for it anyway.  He climbed onto the chair, and from the chair to the table before I could blink.  It's time to baby proof again :).  Here's a picture of him taking advantage of Lily leaving her play-doh unattended.  Too bad he is so cute when he is causing trouble :), especially with his messy hair from his nap.

I can sympathize with you . . . . Anna has also started climbing on the table. And just like Derek she’s so smiley & cute about it. What is a mom to do?

He is so adorable, but seeing him stand on the edge of that chair… eek!

I think Everett would enjoy spending time with Derek, they are very much alike. Everett enjoys jumping off the couch, and climbing our bookshelves. Luckily they are anchored to the wall! Good luck Lisa!

I think it was the laptop on our table that provided the incentive for Ellie to climb on the table also. What crazy kids!
