Img_3315 It was such a great day today – one of those foggy, misty days that almost feel magical.  It was even warm, in the 70's, and so it felt even more so.  It took me back to Monterey, when the clouds of mist used to come off the ocean and fill our neighborhood.  I loved that!

Today was a good day, but this whole week has been pretty great.  Mostly because everything is finally settling down from the holidays.  I am starting fresh and clean with this new year.  The house is in order, Lily is in swimming again, and we are back in our routines, for the most part.  (I can't wait for this weekend to be over though, because it will be a huge weight off of my shoulders.  I have been working like a mad woman to get everything ready for Primary and the start of the new year.)

The kids have been as fun and as crazy as ever.  For example, the other night Derek and I were the only ones still awake (it was only about 7:30 pm), and I heard him messing around in the kitchen.  This is what I found . . .

Img_3309 I guess he thought the floor was dirty :).  He is into everything, and I mean everything!  I keep finding toys stashed in strange places, and I have to check the trash can a few times a day to make sure it is toy free, or whatever else he might have put in there.

He also love to crawl into things, like drawers, laundry baskets, etc.  And he LOVES to bend over and look at things upside down. It is hilarious!  He is also obsessed with the vacuum cleaner, and he chases me around while I vacuum.  Our favorite thing though, is when he does his silly excited dance.  I have got to capture it on video, and that we you can all share in the experience :).  There are the random times when he does slow down and sleep, and for those times, I am truly grateful.

Lily, on the other hand, has become my little helper.  She helps me make the beds every morning, she helps set the table, she helps empty the dishwasher, she bakes with me, etc, etc, etc.  And it is so fun to do all these things with her help.  It makes it seem less like work – especially making the beds.  It is like a fun game for the two of us.  Crazy, but fun :).

I know what you mean about having your little one into everything–I finally put a lock on the garbage can 🙂 Derek looks so peaceful in his toddler bed. Does he actually sleep like that? Ellie moves so much, I’m afraid she would throw herself out of bed at night!

Anna does the same upside down thing as Derek! It is sooo cute! And I’m also surprised to see him sleeping in a toddler bed. Does he stay put? I would think that he would be constantly moving out of the thing.

You always live in the best places. I am sitting in Mom and Dad’s freezing computer room wishing for 40 degree weather, let alone 70. At least I can enjoy it through you. Thanks
