Autumn_field I have been wanting to post something about my parent's mission to Scotland for a long time.  (For those of you who aren't familiar with our church, we have, not only young missionaries, but older couples who choose to go out and serve missions.)  My parents had wanted to serve a mission together for as long as I can remember, and in January it became a reality.  After 2 weeks in the MTC  (Missionary Training Center) in Provo, UT, they were off to Edinburgh, Scotland for 18 months.

Jedburg_abbey_2 They have been there for a while now, and although they have had quite a few challenges, they are loving their experience working with the people in Dumfries, Scotland – the town where they live.  It is so fun to have my parents be the ones on a mission, especially after they sent so many of us kids out on missions.  I love seeing their pictures, hearing about their experiences, but I especially love the example they are to my children as they are out  serving the Lord.

Wow, what great pictures. That is definently a place I would love to visit someday. What a great example they are for their children and grandchildren.

I just wanted to say how exciting for your parents! My grandmother is from Scotland and her sister lives in Edinburgh (they’re originally from Kilmacolm.) She’s not a member though. Staunch Catholic. 🙂 It’s so beautiful there!
